"NASA develops system to computerize silent, 'subvocal speech,'" NASA News, Ames Research Center, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Moffett Field, California; March 17, 2004; Release: 04-18AR The journal Science, August 6, 1999 issue describes a demonstration of six-way, real time language translation via computer. Six people in six countries speaking six different languages carried on a spontaneous conversation electronically without any human interpreters on July 22nd. It was sponsored by the Consortium for Speech Translation Advanced Research (C-STAR) using video links. It appears to have worked flawlessly. They have a website: www.c-star.org.
